ALASKA PORT TOURS / TRAVELER INFORMATION

Contact Us

One address covers everything: hello@alaskaporttours.com.

We read every message and reply within 3 business days. A person answers, not an auto-responder, and if the answer needs us to check a listing first, we’ll say so and come back once we have.

Put the page address in your message if it’s about something on the site, for example alaskaporttours.com/sitka-tours/whale-watching/. It saves a round of emails.

There’s no phone line and no contact form. Email keeps a record on both sides, which matters when the question is about a fact we got wrong.

Questions about a booking

If you’ve already booked a tour, we’re the wrong people to ask, and writing to us will only slow you down.

Every booking made through this site is held by Viator and run by a local operator. We can’t see your booking, change its date, cancel it or issue a refund. Here’s who can:

Your questionWho to contact
You’re late, lost, or the boat isn’t where you expectedThe operator, on the phone number in your Viator confirmation
What to wear, what’s included, whether the tour suits a child or limited mobilityThe operator, by phone or through your Viator booking
Changing the date, cancelling, a refund or a paymentViator, through your booking or the Viator Help Center
Your ship’s times, tenders or all aboardYour cruise line

On a port day, call the operator first. They’re the only ones who can hold a bus or tell you which float the boat is on.

Our booking help page covers cancellations, weather calls and getting back to the ship in more detail.

Do tell us afterwards if a tour went badly wrong: a no-show operator, a refund that never came, a meeting point that doesn’t match the listing. A pattern of problems is a reason for us to move a tour down a page or take it off.

Reporting a wrong fact

Listings change between our quarterly checks. A boat gets replaced, a meeting point moves to a different float, an operator drops lunch from a combo. If something on one of our pages doesn’t match what you found, we want to know.

Send us the page address and the sentence that’s wrong.

Our corrections page sets out what else helps, what counts as a correction and how each fix is dated and logged.

You don’t need to prove anything. “I think the Sitka shuttle stop has moved” is enough for us to go and look.

Operators, partnerships and press

Same address, hello@alaskaporttours.com, with a subject line that says what it’s about.

Tour operators. If you run a tour in Juneau, Sitka or Icy Strait Point and think a detail about it is wrong, send the correction and we’ll check it like any other. If your tour isn’t on a page, the usual reason is the review record: we only list tours on Viator that meet the thresholds on how we choose tours. We don’t accept payment for placement, and we don’t remove an honest “skip it if” because an operator asks.

Partnerships. We’re glad to hear from tourism bodies, local guides and photographers, especially anyone with licensed photos of departure points, which are the pictures our readers find most useful.

Press. Alaska Port Tours is published by ScalePact. Our about page explains who that is and what the site does.

What we can help with

 • Whether a tour on our pages is the right one for your port call, if the page doesn’t already answer it.
 • A fact on our site that looks wrong or out of date.
 • A tour that went badly, so other travelers hear about it.
 • Anything about how the site works or makes money.

What we can’t do is touch a booking. Viator holds the payment and the operator runs the trip, so changes, refunds and on-the-day problems go to them.

FAQ

How fast will you reply? Within 3 business days. If you’re writing about a tour that’s tomorrow, contact the operator instead; we won’t be fast enough to help.

Can you book a tour for me or hold a spot? No. Bookings are made on Viator, and only the operator can hold a place on a boat.

Will you pass my message to the operator? No, and we won’t share your email address with anyone. If the problem needs the operator, the number in your Viator confirmation is the quickest route.
